For God so loved the world….

The students at the secondary school had a surprise visitor at chapel time last Wednesday. A young girl from the primary school entered the secondary staff room in the evening and requested to speak to the students during chapel time. She was accompanied to the large room where students had already gathered and sat in the seats for visitors and those leading the service.

When given an opportunity, she boldly stood up and proclaimed:

“John 3:16

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

On her way home from school

She then told students she wanted to pray for them, which she did very eloquently, despite hardly being tall enough to see over the front row of students sitting on their stools!

Students were surprised by her presence, encouraged by her words and challenged by her courage.

Mock Exams

Also this week, the Senior Four students at the secondary school started their mock exams. Join with us in praying that they all manage to do their best and achieve encouraging results, as they continue to prepare for the national (O Level) exams later in the year.

JJVSS Senior 4 2016

Most of these students joined the school in Senior Two at the opening of the secondary school in 2014. Others enrolled in 2015 and 2016. They completed their primary education and Senior One class elsewhere, but were grateful for the opportunity to join JJ’s secondary school. Affording the fees and requirements at other schools had became increasingly challenging for the students and their families, a few having dropped out of education for a period, before enrolling at JJ.
